1200 Years

Walking through this museum of ancient history
I can't help but shudder at our anthropology
Planet was near exhaustion
The dinosaur was calling man to exit gracefully

Billions ran their lives out living like machines
Capitalistic fantasies were floating in their dreams
The god of profit laughing
I can't believe my ancestors were taken in that way

The young were all programmed
Taught to rationalize
And even as the world dies
They still revere the lie
I walk into the sunlight and I thank God
We don't live that way here in thirty two seventy five

Twelve hundred years
Twelve hundred years
Twelve hundred years after the end
Raise up your heart
Reign in your tears
Twelve hundred years after the end

Come my love now join me
Put your hand in mine
Well go down by the ocean
As the moon brings in the tide

The sea reflects the starlight
My blood is rising up to meet the glow that's in your eyes

Twelve hundred years have gone now
Since the world's end
Evolution's dormancy is overcome again
I hear the whales singing
Please let this not be a dream

Twelve hundred years
Twelve hundred years
Twelve hundred years after the end
Raise up your heart
Reign in your tears
Twelve hundred years after the end
